FAQs

We aim to make your entire experience with Cedar Manor easy and pleasurable, from booking and travelling, right through to your stay with us. To help you make the most of this time, we’ve collated our most commonly asked questions about the hotel and facilities from previous guests.

For more detailed information about individual rooms and suites, we’ve included FAQs on each accommodation page also.

Where is the hotel located? What time can we check-in to our accommodation? Is car parking available at the hotel? Is there WIFI at the hotel? Do any of your rooms or suites have hot tubs? Do you have a bar? Do you serve breakfast? Do you serve Afternoon Tea?

Yes, Afternoon Tea is served 5 days a week at Cedar Manor, from Thursday to Monday, with service starting at 1:30 and the last bookings at 4pm. Our Afternoon Tea is available for both hotel guests and non-residents, however in both circumstances we ask that you book in advance to reserve a slot.

For those with dietary requirements, we can prepare gluten free and vegetarian versions of our afternoon tea, however we do not yet provide vegan or dairy-free options

Is Lunch and Dinner available?

We do not currently have a formal dining room available at Cedar Manor so do not provide lunch or dinner. However, we do offer a scrumptious selection of supper platters and sides which can be enjoyed in our lounges or in the comfort of your room or suite from 6pm.

We are also lucky enough to have a selection of fantastic places to eat in Windermere, Bowness and Ambleside. This includes pubs, cafes, bistros, pizzerias and a large selection of fine dining establishments, including several Michelin Starred restaurants, within just a few minutes drive.

Can I bring my pet? Are you family friendly?

We do not currently accommodate babies or children under ten years old in any of the Cedar Manor rooms or suites. However, we do have extra beds available for children (or adults) aged 10 and above in the Orrest Head Suite and aged 12 and above in the Coach House Suite, to a maximum of three people. Please note that children must always be accompanied by an adult within the hotel. If you would like to add an extra bed in these suites, please contact us to arrange.

Can we get married at the hotel?

We are located next to St Mary’s Church in Windermere, just a one minute walk away, and can cater for private weddings and up to 24 guests here at Cedar Manor hotel.

Please note that we are not currently taking any new wedding bookings in 2025, but we would love you to consider us for your minimoon or honeymoon. You can view our dedicated honeymoon and minimoon packages here.

Can we hire the entire hotel for a private function? Can you explain the difference between your bed sizes?

Yes, bed sizes can be confusing as they differ depending on where in the world you are. Here are the widths of the beds available at Cedar Manor Hotel:

Double: A 4ft6 wide bed
Twin: 2 x single 3ft wide beds
King: A 5ft wide bed
Super king: A 6ft wide bed

Beds by room and suite:
Standard double: Claife Heights room
King: Wanfell room, Crinkle Crags room, Langdale room, and Conninston room
Super king: Miller Ground room, Windermere room and Bowness, Orrest Head, and Coach House Suites
Twin availability: Miller Ground room and Bowness Junior Suite
